“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers…”
— 1 Timothy 4:12 (KJV)
Every generation faces a choice.
Will it invest in the next generation?
Or will it simply hope someone else does?
Throughout Scripture, we see God’s desire to pass truth from one generation to another.
Faith was never intended to stop with us.
It was meant to be shared.
Taught.
Modeled.
Passed forward.
“One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.”
— Psalm 145:4 (KJV)
Today, young people are growing up in a world unlike any previous generation.
They learn differently.
Communicate differently.
Consume information differently.
Much of their world exists through technology, media, and digital communication.
Rather than ignoring those realities, believers should recognize the opportunities they create.
The question is not whether media influences young people.
The question is:
Who will influence them?
More Than Entertainment
Many young people spend hours each day listening, watching, scrolling, and engaging with content.
Some of that content encourages them.
Much of it does not.
The world is full of voices competing for their attention.
Voices telling them who they should be.
Voices telling them what they should believe.
Voices offering temporary answers to eternal questions.
That is why Christian media matters.
Not because technology saves people.
Jesus saves people.
But technology can be used to share the message that points people to Him.
Young People Have A Voice
Too often, young people are viewed only as the future of the Church.
The truth is that they are also part of the Church today.
God has used young people throughout history.
David was young.
Josiah was young.
Jeremiah was young.
Timothy was young.
Yet God used them mightily.
Young believers do not have to wait until adulthood to serve God.
They can encourage others today.
Share their testimony today.
Use their gifts today.
Make a difference today.
Equipping The Next Generation
One of the greatest opportunities before us is helping young believers discover and develop their gifts.
Some may become:
- podcasters
- musicians
- broadcasters
- worship leaders
- video creators
- writers
- teachers
- missionaries
Others may simply use what they learn to serve faithfully in their local church.
Every role matters.
Every gift matters.
“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another…”
— 1 Peter 4:10 (KJV)
Imagine a teenager learning how to run audio for a church service.
Imagine a young creator producing content that encourages other students.
Imagine young believers interviewing one another about their faith.
Imagine friendships forming across countries and cultures through Christ-centered media.
These are not merely media projects.
They are ministry opportunities.
The Mission Continues
At The Voice of Truth, we believe media can be a tool for discipleship, encouragement, and outreach.
We believe young people deserve opportunities to learn, create, and serve.
We believe their voices matter.
Most importantly, we believe the Gospel is just as relevant to this generation as it has been to every generation before it.
The methods may change.
The mission never does.
As long as there are young people searching for hope, there should be believers willing to invest in them, encourage them, and help them discover how God can use their lives for His glory.
The next generation is not merely the future.
They are part of God’s work today.
Who invested in your faith journey?
How might God use you to encourage, mentor, or equip someone from the next generation?
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the young people You are raising up today. Help us invest in them, encourage them, and equip them to use their gifts for Your glory. Give them courage to stand for truth, wisdom to navigate the world around them, and opportunities to share the hope of Jesus Christ with others. May one generation faithfully pass Your truth to the next.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
